FAQ
What is Joy Ride car art made of and how is it put on?
We create our graphic images from the highest quality cast vinyl, a product made specifically for transportation graphics by 3M. Our skilled installers use sheets of transfer tape and a variety of application tools to install it on the surface of your car. We come to your location. The installation process takes about an hour per side and can be done anywhere that’s not too windy, has adequate light, and has five feet of clearance on the car’s application side. That’s it!
Is Joy Ride car art really removable?
Absolutely! Although the vinyl images stay on and are colorfast for years, they can easily be removed by gently warming, such as with a hair dryer, and slowly pulling away from the vinyl edge. The paint underneath is completely undamaged. If any small bits of adhesive remain, they remove quickly by rubbing with alcohol. Aftermarket paint jobs are unpredictable, and so to guarantee quality, we only install on cars that have the original, OEM paint—cars that have been re-painted are not eligible.
How does Joy Ride car art compare to a “wrap?”
Wraps cover the entire surface of your car with adhesive vinyl. Joy Ride uses the same cast vinyl material as wraps, but we create our car art by carving the vinyl into beautiful designs. Although our car art can be just as visually impactful, our installation process takes less time, covers less of your car’s surface, and costs a lot less. For comparison, full car wraps often have your car in the shop for a week, and cost $4,000 to $ 7,000. Our’s cost $599 per side, and we have your art installed in an hour.
